大分県由布市湯布院町にある、龍莪山 佛山寺。
西暦964年ごろに開山したと伝わる、本尊は由布霊山観世音菩薩。
始めは由布岳の中腹にあり天台宗の寺院であったが、西暦1596年に起きた大地震により倒壊、
現在はこの場所にて禅宗で臨済宗妙心寺派の寺院になった。
由布岳の山岳信仰や観光地として有名なお寺です。
