ここは、大分県別府市にある鉄輪温泉。
1276年に時宗の開祖の一遍上人によって、温泉の湯治場が作られました。
この辺り一帯の湯けむりの風情から、地獄と呼ばれています。
別府市では湧出量と源泉数は日本一、泉質の種類も鉄輪に多く、
鉄輪温泉の町は、地面のそこらじゅうから湯気を吹いています。
